Very interesting, especially when you consider that for about $45 you can map your own domain name, set up email addresses on that domain via Google Apps, use custom CSS to tweak your template and upgrade to 5GB of storage (which allows for direct posting of video and audio files).

The downside: limited support for widgets and polls, no custom favicons and no Google Analytics. Still a fairly compelling offer though if you can live with a few minor shortcomings.

I had just created a wordpress account prior to this post, but never moved my stuff over. I couldn’t get it to load on the UIS server…and unfortunately, at this point, I need to keep my existing URL…next year though…I’m making the switch for sure! Thanks for the excellent post to only make me want to switch more…haha.
